Crystal Visions

So I could absolutely kick myself for forgetting my camera on Sunday night when I saw Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart..but I forget often. Which is why I don't have any recent images of myself in clothes from my own wardrobe.

This is the most recent photo of me from back in early December when I went to see the Black Crowes in Santa Barbara. I'm in the ever present faux fur collared suede jacket, tights and boots ensemble. This is basically my winter uniform. I'll just mix up different boots and jackets. I pretty much rely on accessories in the colder months to make my wardrobe more exciting.

Anyway, this post was supposed to be about Ms. Nicks so let's get back on track. Sarah and I were told over and over by fellow concert goers that we were the best dressed. I have to agree..but with no photographic evidence you will just have to take my word for it. And instead I'll show photos of the Stevie looks that inspired our outfits for the evening.

Sarah wore dark blue high waist, wide leg jeans and a gauzy white and gold midriff baring flutter sleeved blouse that tied closed in the front. We called it the "White Winged Dove" top. She paired th
is with the Jeffrey Campbell "Snick" platforms and an amazing dream catcher feathered earring.

I was going for more of a classic Stevie stage look minus the top hat. I wore a long black burnout duster with beading and fringe. I'm almost positive Stevie herself would wear this jacket. I'll try to take photos of it the next time I wear it out. It's stunning.

Of course I broke out my black Jeffrey Campbell "Stevie" platform boots and my favorite cascading quartz crystal necklace.

These boots are truly the best. I wear them all of the time. They're sturdy, yet light enough to twirl and dance in..which we did A LOT of on Sunday.

And the concert? FUN. Stevie went on first and immediately stole the show. I was actually pretty disappointed that she didn't go last considering she has a new album out. Her set was short but packed with energy. Sealing the deal with "Landslide". I bawled the entire time. Rod was good, but I don't think I'd ever see him again unless he's planning on reuniting with The Faces. THAT I would see. I suppose he lost me when they ran footage of a soccer game on the screens behind him during "Hot Legs" as he kicked soccer balls into the audience. But it was fine, the red wine was flowing and we were feeling ALRIGHT! I think most of the set we spent dancing up and down the aisles. Security never stopped us so we pretty much watched from every angle that the Hollywood Bowl has to offer! Stevie only had one outfit change. During "Gold Dust Woman" she put on a gorgeous gold flowing shawl. Meanwhile, Rod changed 3 times! Note to self..see Stevie ON HER OWN.

Now I know you're wanting a Nicks look of your own. This Gunne Sax dress just screams 80's Stevie to me (and there are my beloved boots!).

Meet me at the Garden Gate..

It's time for a Ho-down ya'll! My god daughter is having a western themed birthday to celebrate the 2nd year of her most glorious life and I couldn't be more thrilled! I've donned golf attire, star wars tee's and silly party hats for the sake of family, but this time I'm finally going to feel at home in this theme. My wardrobe is filled with Gunne Sax prairie dresses, turquoise bolo ties, suede hats and beat-to-hell cowboy boots! I could probably dress the entire party from my closet alone! So it's no surprise that I always stock my store with tons of western wear.

Here are some key pieces to create a look fit for a hootenanny!
